The End (For Now)

My experience in IS101 has had it's ups and downs I'm just glad that the class part is pretty much over. There were tons of things that I've never experienced in other classes in this class, so every time I sat down to do my assignments I felt a little disoriented, very eye opening. But we learned many essential skills that'll be great to use for our future careers. This course really hardened my skin to prepare for any other classes I might take. And I do appreciate all the help that was offered from Professor Wu, it shows that he cares about his students doing well.

I chose 6.8.1 Media Formatting to discuss. You can crop and resize your images to fit where it looks best on your slide giving you lots of freedom of creativity. But be careful resizing your images from the side and not the corner can distort the image. It's relatively best to drag the image from the arrows on the corner so it's proportional. You can also align the image to different positions on the slide depending on your needs. Choosing a style is another way to express your creativity with your images. It's generally a good idea to keep every image on every slide in the same style. With videos you can insert them from linking the URL, uploading them from your computer, or from the stock videos option on the ribbon. The same actions that are available to you with images applies to videos, but its not really recommended.

My slideshow was something I tried to be creative with. It's not really my best work aesthetically, but with help from Professor Wu it improved professionally.

I don't have much else to say except I wish you all luck in your future endeavors. And I'll end with a question that any one reading this can answer while commenting if they'd like to: What's your favorite song at the moment?

  1. Hi Izabelle, I agree with you that this course definitely gave us thicker skin for future classes and yes Professor Wu really does care about every single student succeeding. I learned a lot from this class and thankful to have taken it. I remembered your PowerPoint presentation and I really liked your slideshow and all those characters. As for favorite song at the moment, I like listening to all types of songs and genres but currently I thought the new Evanescence song "Who Will You Follow" is nice to listen to while I'm at the gym. Thanks for congratulating me on my graduation and hope you graduate with flying colors as well!

  2. Hi Izabelle! Right now, my favorite song is "God is Fair, Sexy Nasty" by Mac Miller and Kendrick Lamar. It definitely might be an acquired taste type of song, but I can't stop listening to it! If you're needing more song recommendations here are some other "on-repeat" ones for me: "Please Do Not Lean" (Daniel Caesar), "4Me 4Me" (Malcolm Todd), "Girl I'm Gonna Miss You" (Milli Vanilli), and "Burning Blue" (Mariah the Scientist).

  3. Wow Izabelle, you are actually the person who made that Pokémon PowerPoint. Honestly, I still remember it because the layout and formatting were really impressive, especially the way you used contrast and balanced the images on the slides. We are not even in the same class section, but I remember Professor Wu showcasing your presentation before, and honestly it deserved it. Your PowerPoint honestly beats mine by a mile.

Also, for your question, I do not really have a favorite song right now, but recently I have been listening to Black Rover by AmaLee, the English rendition version.

  5. I really enjoyed being part of your mini game when you presented your slideshow. One of the creative ones in the class and I was so happy that you had a different approach on you presentation. The ups and downs in this class is basically a rollercoaster, while sometimes scary when we fall, at the end we still had fun. I like the quirky question in your blog post, a step to more whimsical post in the future.

My favorite song right now would be "Kyouran Hey Kids!!" by THE ORAL CIGARETTES. This song makes me want to run somewhere aimlessly, like Forrest Gump if you will.

  6. Hi Izabelle, I can relate to what you said about feeling a bit disoriented at first, this class definitely introduces a lot of new tools at once. And it can feel overwhelming in the beginning. I also agree that even though it was challenging, it ended up being really useful because we learned skills we can actually use in the future.

  7. Hi Izabelle, I bet your slideshow presentation was interesting, it’s sad I missed it. The important thing in this class is the outcome and that you get to learn many new things for your future. So far, the top song in my playlist (though it changes pretty quickly) is SEYA by Gims, Morad & Sativamusic.

  8. This class definitely challenged you and took you out of your comfort zone at times. But with that it made us stronger because of it and more prepared for the future. I couldn't be more appreciative of the experiences we gained in this class and best of luck to you on your future.

  11. Hi Izabelle. I can relate to how tough the class was, especially with having to memorize the different functions in Excel. However, it sounds like you strived through your challenges. Also, my favorite song at the moment is “Livin’ on a Prayer” by Bon Jovi.

  12. Hey Izabelle, I love the topic you picked! I used to be very into character designs since I like a few anime and lots of games. I love when a person's design adds so much character and distinct vibe to them and suits them. I also did digital art so this is very useful to me :) I really wish I was able to see you present this.
